Nautical Bowls, an emerging player in the fast-casual restaurant scene, was on a mission to build awareness for their rapidly expanding franchised brand built around açai bowls. When they came to us, their goals were clear: increase purchase frequency, gain new customers and make waves in new markets to set franchisees up for success. They embodied the true entrepreneurial spirit, seeking fast yet focused ways to stand out in a competitive landscape dominated by salads, burritos and burgers.

The real problem was, beyond outspending the competition, how could Nautical Bowls quickly and efficiently make a significant mark?

The strategic key was in disrupting and reshaping not only how consumers thought about the açai bowls, but how they saw healthy meals in general—reframing the idea that a nutritious lunch has to include lettuce. Just because Nautical Bowls are colorful and sweet like ice cream or yogurt, they shouldn’t be relegated to an occasional treat—they’re real, healthy meals that are easy to eat on the go and far more flavorful than your typical sad salad.
